To help New Zealand drivers make the best choice, government agency the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and the New Zealand tyre industry have been working together on a consistent way of helping consumers identify fuel efficient tyres. ENERGYWISE approved fuel efficient tyres set a minimum criteria for both rolling resistance and braking in the wet. This means ENERGYWISE approved fuel efficient tyres are a simple way to identify tyres that meet ENERGYWISE standards for both fuel efficiency and braking in the wet – saving fuel and ensuring performance when safety really counts.
The world's first carboNZeroCertTM certified tyre
The fuel efficient Bridgestone Ecopia has become the first tyre to achieve carboNZeroCertTM certification. This status has been bestowed only after a qualified authority has carried out a meticulous process of identifying and verifying the product’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, covering everything from the parts that make up the tyre, production of the tyre, through to freighting it to stores.*
